Campbell + Ernest. *sigh*
I honestly don't know where to begin with just how awesome these two are and just how amazing their wedding celebration was. Getting to know C+E and being a part of their wedding has left my heart so gosh darn FULL it's overflowing!
These lovebirds met while in high school (they attended rival high schools, Wallenpaupack [she] vs. Honesdale [he]!) and volunteering at Tanglwood Ski Resort for the Special Olympics. Eventually, Campbell became a ski instructor and Ernest became a ski patroller at the resort. The two began exchanging mixed CDs by leaving them in the other's locker (how CUTE?!) and the rest is pretty much history!
C+E reside in Geneva, Switzerland and had actually already tied the knot while they were home in December 2012. When they contacted me this past February and described the enchanted "after (OK, way after) party" they were planning, I could hardly contain my excitement. The love, the location, the details!!!
C+E invited 100 of their closest friends and family from near and far to celebrate at a rustic lodge overlooking a private lake in Hawley, Pennsylvania. Samuelle Green, a dear friend of the couple and extremely talented artist and designer, was the mastermind behind the magical decor throughout the lodge – white feathers dipped in gold glitter, animal mounts dressed for the occasion, candlesticks coated in gold glitter, glittery tree branches sprawling out over the dining tables. The incredibly talented Katharine Brown of Fox Hill Farm did an amazing job with the florals throughout the event space and created the perfect floral crown for the bride. Campbell was an absolute vision in her lace gown from BHLDN and Ernest looked insanely dapper in a suit by Hugo Boss.
The couple arrived to the party via canoe with a JUST MARRIED sign and foam-filled, gold spray-painted cans trailing behind them. Campbell opted for red lipstick in the evening and wore her grandmother's vintage Abercrombie & Fitch tartan shirt around her shoulders! After a beautiful blessing by Campbell's mother Lindsay, guests sipped on hard cider from glasses rimmed with edible gold glitter. And then... we PARTIED!!!
Guests enjoyed an oyster bar and whiskey bar during the cocktail hour, along with the most delicious pierogis I've ever tasted in my LIFE (homemade by the groom's mom). Local chef Alan Kehoe presented a delectable menu consisting of a mesclun salad with warmed goat cheese, Cornish game hen and braised ribs, and a medley of vegetables. A dessert display decked in edible gold was prepared by Sweet Eden.
The Coal Town Rounders, a Scranton Bluegrass band, kept the crowd on their feet all night long. At one point, I was convinced we were going to crash right through the lodge's hardwood floor from all of the stomping, clapping, and dancing! Specialty cocktails included jalapeño margaritas, Hendrick's Gin and tonic, and Polish Zubrowka and apple juice. Cam and her girlfriends crafted the night before the wedding, making funky floral and gold cocktail stirrers and gold-glitter kissed flowers for the ladies to don in their hair.
A BIG thank you to my wonderful friend Michael Pangilinan for making the trek north to be my sidekick for the day, too!
Campbell and Ernest, thank you again. I adore you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness and love. xo
OK, OK, OK... without further ado...
CAMPBELL + ERNEST. Enjoy!
